Late Dr Vasantrao Pawar the Ex Sarchitnis of MVP Samaj and the conceptualiser of the MVP'S Hi Tech hospital, recipient of the prestigious Dr. B.C. Roy award, went to his heavenly abode on 7 October 2010 due to a massive cardiac arrest.

From procuring the official permission to start the medical college in 1989 to it having achieved the status of a multidisciplinary Post graduate institute with a hi-tech super specialty hospital now, every milestone was achieved because of his relentless effort and as a mark of respect and gratitude to his immense contribution, this college was aptly named as Dr Vasantrao Pawar medical college hospital and research center on 4 April 2010.

He took personal interest in all the routine activities in the functioning of the college inspite of his extremely busy schedule as he was also holding the appointment of MLC, for constituency of Nashik. His primary focus always remained patients and students. He truly believed that the eventual success of a medical Institution depends on the quality medical care you give to your patients at affordable cost and hence he saw it personally that the poor and needy patients get quality medical care at a negligible cost.

The Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati is a premier educational institution of Central India with branches in all the districts of Vidarbha in Maharastra. It is registered as a Public Charitable Trust ( R.N. F/89). Its founder President was the late Dr. Panjabrao alias Bhausaheb Deshmukh who established various schools, colleges, hostels and other teaching and technical institutions and devoted all his energy for strengthening and enlarging the activities of the Shri Shivaji Education Society, Amravati.

Bio-waste management was made mandatory from 2000 and the hospital has invested in state of the art incinerator and practicing the health care waste management in Toto. MAHATMA GANDHI MISSION (MGM) was established on 20 December 1982 with a futuristic vision to provide qualitative education by applying innovative and dynamic pedagogical techniques. Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital is run by Sinhgad Technical Education Society which was formed in the year 1993 and runs about 90 Teaching Institutions starting from junior most school/ playgroup to highest post graduate colleges in various professional fields. The objective of the Institute is to lay a foundation and create advanced academic and research environment for medical and other health science manpower that would identify and deal effectively with peculiar problems faced in implementing a comprehensive rural health care package in the country. Started in 1963 by the Catholic Bishop's Conference of India, St. John's has grown to be listed as one of the top medical educational institutions in the country. Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal was established on June 30, 1953, by late Dr. T. M. A. Pai. 

The late Dr. Tonse Madhava Anantha Pai (1898 – 1979), physician, educationist, banker and philanthropist, was the founder and builder of modern Manipal. He established educational, medical, banking and industrial enterprises of national importance and repute.

The Kasturba Medical College started with only the pre-clinical section at Manipal as the students had to go to Mangalore for their clinical training. In 1969, when the clinical programme started in Manipal, KMC became a full-fledged independent college.
