The college has been accorded the status of Deemed-to-be-University by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) Government of India on recommendation of the University Grants Commission (UGC) within a period of just six and a half years of establishment perhaps the shortest period of such recognition.

The College conducts Postgraduate Degree and Diploma Courses with annual intake of 145 in the following 19 subjects : General Surgery, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Opthalmology, ENT (Oto Rhino Laryngology), General Medicine, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology, Psychiatry, Radio-diagnosis, Pulmonary Medicine, Skin & Venereal Diseases, Pathology, Community Medicine, Pharmacology, Microbiology, Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry.

Eligibility:
Only the candidate, who satisfies or is likely to satisfy the following eligibility requirements for admission to the courses, shall be considered eligible to appear for the AICET-2014.

Nationality and Age:
The candidate, seeking to appear at the AICET-2014 shall be an Indian national and shall have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December 2014, i.e. he/she should have been born before 1st January 1998.

Qualifications for M.B.B.S
  • The candidate, seeking admission to these programs, shall have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (H.S.C.) examination / the Indian School Certificate (ISC) examination / Central Board of Secondary Education(CBSE) examination or any other examination equivalent to 10+2 HSC examination of any recognized Board / University from any school / college situated in India after 12 years of study. The candidate with other qualifications shall have to get equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian University (AIU), New Delhi.
  • The candidate, seeking admission to these programs, shall have passed in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually and must have obtained at least 50 percent marks (40 percent marks in respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled castes / Scheduled Tribes / Other Backward Class) in Physics Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination, i.e. 10 + 2 / HSC or an equivalent examination.
  • A candidate who has appeared or is likely to appear for qualifying examination i.e. HSC etc., and whose results have not been declared at the time of AICET- 2014 shall also be considered eligible to appear for AICET-2014, provided he/she has offered the above mentioned subjects at the said qualifying examination(s).
  • The candidate seeking admission for the programs shall also have secured at least 50 percent marks (100 out of 200 marks) at the AICET-2014.
Admission Procedure:  
The admissions to MBBS shall be done on the basis of merit as ascertained from the performance of the candidates in All India Common Entrance Test -2014 and their respective preference(s) given in the Application Form.

What is Human Anatomy?
Human anatomy can be precisely defined as a complementary basic medical science, which deals with the scientific study of morphology of human body. In simpler words, human anatomy is the study of structure of human body.

Anatomy is the branch of biology concerned with the study of the structure of organisms and their parts. In some of its facets, anatomy is related to embryology and comparative anatomy, which itself is closely related to evolutionary biology and phylogeny.

Human anatomy is one of the basic essential sciences of medicine.

The study of anatomy is distinct from the study of physiology, although the two are often paired.
While anatomy deals with the structure of an organism, physiology deals with the way the parts function together. For example, an anatomist may study the types of cells in the cardiac conduction system and how those cells are connected, while a physiologist would look at why and how the heart beats. Thus, anatomy and physiology are separate, but complimentary, studies of how an organism works.

The discipline of anatomy is divided into macroscopic and microscopic anatomy. Macroscopic anatomy, or gross anatomy, is the examination of an animal’s body parts using unaided eyesight. Gross anatomy also includes the branch of superficial anatomy. Microscopic anatomy involves the use of optical instruments in the study of the tissues of various structures, known as histology and also in the study of cells.

Subdivisions of Human Anatomy:
There are two main levels of structure of human body (as well as every other thing):
macroscopic level and microscopic level. For each of the two levels there is a separate subdivision of anatomy. The one dealing with macroscopic level is known as gross anatomy and the other which deals with microscopic level is called microscopic anatomy or histology.

In gross anatomy, structure of human body is studied as seen by naked eye. There are two approaches for gross anatomy: Regional approach and Systemic approach.

In regional approach, human body is divided into regions like arm; forearm, wrist etc and all structures within that region are studied simultaneously. Whereas in systemic approach, the body is divided into organ systems such as skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system etc and structures belonging to one system are studied together.
