M.S Ramaiah Medical
College (MSRMC), Bangalore was set up in the year 1979 and has since grown
into an institute of recognition and repute in India and abroad. The college
was initially associated to Bangalore University. The college is now associated
to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS).
The visionary behind MS Ramaiah Medical College is Mr. M.S.
Ramaiah who was a noted entrepreneur, an industrialist and a philosopher. His
dream was to educate the masses and to make a huge leap in the higher education
field by creating qualified professionals. “Gnanagangotri – Spring of
Knowledge” was a realization of his dreams. In 1962 he started Gokula
Educational Foundation and established many professional colleges.

MBBS (Medicine and Surgery)- Stands for Bachelor of Medicine
and Bachelor of Surgery. Typically, MBBS (Medicine and Surgery) is a 5 or 6
years course, minimum eligibility for which is an intermediate (10+2) in
science with more than 50%marks. Surgery is essentially the process of
utilizing instrumental techniques on a person by the doctors for investigating
as well as treating a pathological condition, for instance disease or injury.
Duration: Four and Half Years + 1 Year Internship
Eligibility:
A. Minimum age of 17 years
B. Candidates having 50% marks together in Physics,
Chemistry & Biology at 10+2 level or any equivalent exam
and must have English as a subject.
