Shri B.M.Patil Medical College, Bijapur was created in 1910, by Vachana Pitamaha Dr.P.G. Halakatti under BLDE Association.

The institute started Engineering College, Pharmacy College, Nursing College and the Medical College, along with its own 1000 bed teaching hospital first of its kind in the country.

The institute sponsors and runs 75 institutions in both rural and urban areas of Bijapur and Bagalkot districts. The spectrum covers primary schools, high schools, pre-university colleges, degree colleges in faculties of Arts, Science, Commerce, Law, Management, Education Science, Fine arts, Pharmacy, Nursing, Nursery, Sericulture, Engineering & Polytechnics, Medical sciences with Post graduate courses and sponsors the BLDE University.

Eligibility:

• The candidate must have cleared 10+2 examination or its equivalent from Physics, Chemistry and Biology, from any recognized Board.
• Admission in MBBS Course – For getting admission into MBBS course in Shri B M Patil Medical College, Hospital & Research Centre, Bijapur the students have to qualify Common Entrance Test conducted by BLDE University, Bijapur.
• The selection of the students into UG / PG Courses is based on the ranks obtained in the all India Entrance Examination.
