Institute of Medical Sciences, Pondicherry was instituted in the year 2006
and approved by Medical Council of India (MCI) and Ministry of Health and
Family Welfare, Govt. of India, New Delhi and associated to Bharath University,
Chennai.
The institute has MBBS 150 Seats. PG 6 Seats. The medical
college is having a deemed status as per the UGC Act 1956.
The institute is affiliated to Bharath University, Chennai. The
college conducts an all India Entrance test to select students into UG / PG
courses.
The institute offers Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of
Surgery (MBBS) course of 5½ years duration including 1 year of internship.
During the internship period, the students develop their key skills under
highly skilled faculty. The college is well equipped with all basic and
necessary infrastructural facilities.
MBBS & MD Courses – The UG course is MBBS. The PG
courses are in MD only. All of these UG
/ PG Courses are recognized by Medical Council of India.
