The College was started in the year 1953. It is a Famous & leading medical college.

Previously, KMC was under the purview of the Mangalore University. In 1993, the government of India granted Deemed University status to Manipal University (formerly known as MAHE) which saw KMC coming under its wing.

The institute became a full-fledged independent college in 1969 when the institute began with clinical program. The college has 200 acres of well-developed campus.

Eligibility Criteria:

Passed in 10+2, A level, IB, American 12th grade or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology and English individually with a minimum of 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology taken together.

Admission Procedure:

• Admissions are done on the basis of rank in the All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2016. Candidates who have secured minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology in All India Manipal University Online Entrance Test (MU-OET) 2016 will be considered for admissions.
• Foreign/NRI Category: Admissions are done on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination
• Government Category: Few MBBS seats are reserved for candidates selected by Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA), Government of Karnataka, and Bangalore.
