Kasturba Medical College (KMC), Manipal was come into existence in the year 1953. It is a leading medical college began with the pre-clinical section.

KMC was granted Certification by the Medical Council of India in 1958. Certification by the General Medical Council of Great Britain and the Malaysian Medical Council soon followed.
