The College campus is located on the outskirts of the Latur city. A satellite view of the same is available on Wikimapia. The Hospital attached to the college is Yeshwantrao Chavan Rural Hospital, Latur.

The college construction was completed by 1994 and the Hospital, which was initially planned for 1100 beds, had its major construction over by 1995. At present it is fully equipped 550-bed hospital with 10 operation theatres and intensive care units for adults and children and neonates. Bio-waste management was made mandatory from 2000 and the hospital has invested in state of the art incinerator and practicing the health care waste management in Toto. The present premises comprises of the college building, the Yeshwantrao Chavan Rural Hospital building, lady’s and boy's hostels, staff quarters, animal house, a well equipped central library, incinerator block, playground, construction dept. building, laundry, canteen, staff quarters, etc.

RESEARCH, CONSULTANCY AND EXTENSION

M.I.M.S.R. Medical College provides ambience for research and encourages the teachers to undertake research work and present their findings in conference or publish them in journals and periodicals. About 30% of teachers are engaged in research work and many of them are guiding postgraduate students in preparing their dissertations for diploma or degree courses. A research society and ethical committee for human research ethical committee for research on animals exists in MIMSR to look after the ethical aspects of research.

MAHATMA GANDHI MISSION (MGM) was established on 20 December 1982 with a futuristic vision to provide qualitative education by applying innovative and dynamic pedagogical techniques. The MGM Deemed University has been originally notified as a Deemed to be University in the name and style of “MGM Institute of Health Sciences vide Notification No. F.9-21/2005-U.3 (A) dated 30.08.2006 issued by the Government of India, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Department of Higher Education New Delhi. Following a letter issued by the UGC allowing the Deemed Universities to use the word ‘University' with their name, the Board of Management MGM Institute of Health Sciences decided to rename the Institution as MGM University of Health Sciences.

Background of the Institution:

The Deemed University status was conferred to the Institutions Namely MGM Medical College Navi Mumbai and MGM Medical College Aurangabad which were established in the year 1989 and 1990 respectively with permission of government of Maharashtra . The MBBS and Postgraduate Courses of the colleges under reference as above have been recognized by Medical Council of India from time to time.

As per the norms of UGC, MGM Institute of Health Sciences, Navi Mumbai is registered under Society under Societies Registration Act, 1860 as well as under Bombay Public Charitable trust Act with its Registration Number – MAH-177/06 (Society Registration Act.) and Registration Number – F-5466 (Raigad) under BPT Act.

Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College Admission 2012

Smt. Kashibai Navale Medical College and General Hospital is run by Sinhgad Technical Education Society which was formed in the year 1993 and runs about 90 Teaching Institutions starting from junior most school/ playgroup to highest post graduate colleges in various professional fields. The medical college and general hospital which is named after reverend mother of Prof. M.N. Navale, the founder president of STES was started in the year 2007.

There has been tremendous progress in the medical college also in that first three batches have cleared their Ist MBBS exam, first two batches have cleared Iind MBBS exam and we can say with pride that our first batch of MBBS students is going for final MBBS exam in 2011. The objective of the Institute is to lay a foundation and create advanced academic and research environment for medical and other health science manpower that would identify and deal effectively with peculiar problems faced in implementing a comprehensive rural health care package in the country. Appropriate, relevant and up-to-date knowledge and skills are made available to grass roots level community members to post doctoral research workers in medical and health sciences.

The Institute has emerged as an alternative to traditional medical and health care programs through internationalization, innovation in academic and research studies and attained Deemed University status in 2003.
