Earlier AIMS was under  Mysore University and now it comes under the purview of  Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences.

Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (regd), started in the year 1973, to render social, charitable, educational and medical services, blended with spiritualism to all sections of the society across the nation and overseas, under the stewardship of the pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mutt, Paramapoojya Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Dr Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, who was also the President of the Trust.
