Sri Adichunchanagiri Shikshana Trust (Regd.) was started in the year 1973 with the objective of rendering social, charitable, educational and medical services blended with spiritualism to the people of Karnataka, India and even for the NRI community under the stewardship of the pontiff of Sri Adichunchanagiri Mutt – Jagadguru Sri Sri Sri Balagangadharanatha Maha Swamiji, who is also the President of the Trust. AIMS is a premier rural medical educational institution catering to the health needs of the rural population in preventive, curative and rehabilitative domains besides teaching and training Undergraduate and Post Graduate students of medicine.
Located on a huge & beautiful campus with an area of more than 200 acres, AIMS was established in the year 1986 by his Holiness with the vision of promoting medical education & provide better health care facilities in rural Karnataka. The institution is situated at a distance of 107 kms from the state capital – Bengaluru, along the National Highway – 48 towards the heritage capital Hassan & 80 kms from the cultural capital – Mysuru. The Institution is recognized by the Medical Council of India, General Medical Council, UK and affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS), Karnataka. The college provides a good quality teaching and training to Undergraduate & Post Graduate students in various specialities of medicine, through its well qualified & experienced staff.

Entry to admission for candidates is by one of the three methods:
1. State conducted CET for admissions to UG (M.B.B.S)
2. COMEDK conducted CET for admissions to both UG courses
3. Management Quota

Total intake per year = 100 students
Duration = 4 1/2 yrs. + 1 year compulsory rotatory internship
