Dr. Kurunji Venkatramana Gowda popularly known as 'KVG' is a true Gandhian in spirit & action and has devoted his entire life in changing the destinies of the large rural mass of Sullia taluk.The emblem incorporates the modern medical symbol with a central spear, two serpents and two wings. The entwined serpents of the Ausculpian spear represent Greek goddesses of health, Hygia and Panacea. The ophidian form shows cosmic intellegence and is represented by the Caduceus of Mercury who in his psychopompic character conducts the souls. The two entwined serpents around the form the Ogdoad or figure of "8" which symbolizes the eternal and spiral motions in nature and also the sine wave (Cf.DNA)/ The spear and the wings of Caduceus are symbols of life. On the spearhead is a circle which expresses the female or negative principle and the central dot the male or positive principle. The motto "Sarve Jana Sukhino Bhavanthu", means, "Let everybody enjoy perfect health", is taken from the Srutis. The title "K.V.G. Medical College" in white on black background incidates enlightenment from ignorance. Black indicates ignorance and white indicates enlightenment. The fluttering scroll engraved with the name "Academy of Liberal Education" stands for the dynamism of the Academy. The shield indicates the protection offered by Medical Science to mankind.
