Dr. D.Y Patil Medical College Offered MBBS Programme
Padmashree Dr. D. Y. Patil Medical
College, Pune was instituted in 1996, received approval of the medical council
of India (MCI), for the award of MBBS degree for its very first batch.

Bachelor of Medicine & Bachelor of
Surgery (M.B.B.S.)
The MBBS programme offered by Dr. D. Y.
Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Center, Pune, is recognized by the
Malaysian Government and Malaysian Medical Council. The International
Recognition will enable our Medical College students to be allotted as
Government Doctors in Malaysia, a unique opportunity to have international
exposure in the field of Medicine.
(M.B.B.S.):
The students complete a course of four
and a half years followed by one year of a compulsory internship before
applying for the degree. The course is divided into four parts with only the
second part lasting one and a half years. Students take an examination at the
end of each part.
This is the first private college in
the State of Maharashtra to receive MCI approval to increase in the intake from
100 to 150 students in 2003 and from 150 to 250, within the shortest span of
time.
The College has 1470 bedded well
equipped own hospital, backed by a Research Centre. The hospital is equipped
with 18 operation theaters with the latest equipment, well maintained Intensive
Care Units, Clinical Laboratory with modern types of equipment, Intervention
Radiology facility etc.
