The KS Hegde
Medical Academy, commonly referred to as KSHEMA, is a medical college in
Deralakatte, near the city of Mangalore. It is managed by the Nitte education
trust, which runs a number of professional colleges in the state of Karnataka.
The colleges offer the MBBS course along with post-graduation courses. The
Academy was affiliated to RGUHS (Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences)
till 2009, Now it is affiliated to NITTE university.
KSHEMA has been
proactive in developing and adopting teaching-learning activities that provide
its students with the best opportunities for training. Initiatives like a Mentor-ship program, Skill Laboratory, integrated learning, e-learning resources
and objective assessment practices are the highlights of the academic programs

offers MBBS programs recognized by the Medical Council of India. It also offers
B.Sc courses in Medical Imaging Technology and Operation Theater Technology.
Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital, the 1000 bed teaching hospital attached
to the Institution provides all levels of holistic health care including major
super-specialty services and provides excellent training opportunities to the
students of the Academy.
