K S Hegde Medical Academy - Admission Details for MBBS
Established in 1999, K.S. Hegde Medical
Academy (KSHEMA) became a constituent Nitte University in 2009. The Institution
is named after its founder, the visionary, Late Justice K S Hegde, former
Justice of the Supreme Court of India and former Speaker of the Lok Sabha.
Admission Details
Admission under General Merit category
The admission under the General merit
category will be through the process of centralized single window counseling on
the basis of merit(rank) obtained in the All India Entrance Test, NU UGET
conducted by Nitte University.
As per the regulations of the statutory
bodies, the minimum percentage of marks in the Entrance Test to be eligible for
admission to the MBBS course shall be 50% for General Category candidates.
Admission under NRI Quota
The admission under the NRI category is
based on merit in the qualifying examination taking into consideration, marks
secured in the core subjects of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
Foreign nationals are also considered for admission under this
quota.
Students seeking admission under the NRI
category should submit a separate application to the college in the prescribed
format, along with the attested photocopies of the following documents:
10th Std. marks card/pass certificate
(for proof of date of birth)
10+2 marks card
Transfer certificate from the
institution last attended
Passport and student visa
Passport and Employer’s certificate as
proof of NRI status (if the candidate has studied in India)
A demand draft for Rs.1000/- towards
registration fee favoring Nitte University, payable at Mangalore.
Eligibility Criteria
A pass in 12th standard or equivalent examination approved by the Medical
Council of India with Physics, Chemistry and Biology as optional subjects and
English as one of the languages of study, with at least 50% marks in aggregate
of optional subjects.

The candidate should have completed 17 years of age as on December 31 of
the year of admission.
