Bharti Vidyapeeth Deemed University Medical College, Pune

Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University (BVDU), Pune was started in the year 1964.

In 1996, the Government of India, on the recommendation of the University Grants Commission, granted the status of "Deemed to be University" to a cluster of 12 institutions of Bharati Vidyapeeth in appreciation of their academic excellence.

The institute runs more than 78 schools and 60 institutions of higher education, including those of professional education.

The institute has 32 famous units and is one of India's largest multi-disciplinary multi-campus universities. Over the years the institute has contributed thousands of well trained graduates, post graduates and research doctorates to the pool of professionals in India and abroad.

The institute has started five specialized research institutes in the areas of Health Related Sciences, Biotechnology, Information Technology, Applied Chemistry and Social Sciences.

The institute has its campuses in New Delhi, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Karad, Satara and Panchgani and at quite a few other places.

The Bharathiya Vidyapeeth-Pune has three main campuses such as Lavale Campus, Dhankawadi Campus and Erandwane Campus within Pune city.
Lavale Campus – Bharati Vidyapeeth's, Group of Institutes, Technical Campus, College of Engineering, Lavale, Pune was established in 2012. The campus occupies 350 acres of land with a beautiful landscape and all other amenities. Since the institute is located at the outskirts of Pune city. The institute runs five branches viz. Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, with an intake of 60 students each.
Dhankawadi Campus - is the prime campus of BVDU and is spread across 85 acres of land which is very conveniently located, this campus is also known as the Katraj Campus, It houses 24 colleges of various disciplines major among them are the Medical College, Dental College, & College Of Engineering Pune.
Erandwane Campus - is located in the heart of Pune City and houses 5 major and other smaller colleges primary among them are IMED, New Law College Pune, Pune College of Pharmacy and Yashwantrao Chavan college of Arts Science & Commerce.
